COVID-19 has created a new normal when it comes to going to the hospital. Per the CDC, almost everyone who goes to the hospital must go there alone.  Yet this violates our wide held belief: never go to the hospital alone without an advocate.

So what can you do as a son/daughter to prepare your parents for a risk that is expected to last well into 2021? And as important, what can you do to prepare your immediate family members when going to the hospital alone, even if not related to COVID-19?

During this practicum, the Elder Care Consortium will provide you with practical advice and a Family Tool Kit.

  • Prepare and create a team of remote advocates and emergency contacts who can act on your behalf remotely.
  • Prepare a hospital “Go To”  bag with all of the essentials you and your medical staff will need, even if you cannot speak up for yourself.
  • Learn about the essential medical, legal and financial issues you need to know.
  • To help you implement your plan, we will provide you with a handy check list and sample of essential supporting documents.
  • We will end our 45 minute webinar with an extra 15 minute Q & A session so we can answer all of your questions.

So please join us for this important, timely and relevant practicum so you prepare for the new normal and protect the ones you love.
